As you know, CRCQL has been advocating to stop the incineration of Philly’s trash in Chester. The city is now considering a new contract for up to 7 YEARS with Reworld, the largest trash incinerator in the U.S. Philly’s waste disposal contracts have officially been assigned to the Committee on the Environment.  The objective now is to squash the contract with Reworld in committee! It is more important than ever to keep the pressure on and make sure the committee members vote “NO” to any Reworld contract.

The committee will hold a hearing tentatively scheduled for 1 PM on November 18th. We are asking supporters to save the date and register to speak NOW!  CRCQL will be providing transportation to this hearing. Please complete this form to let CRCQL know if you plan to attend, whether you will speak and if you will need transportation.

There will also be opportunities for folks to voice their opposition to the contract at regular Council meetings on Nov. 12 and Nov. 19, however the main one we need supporters is Wed, Nov. 18.  Please save these dates on your calendar!
