Upcoming Delco Sustainability events – recycling yard signs and roadside cleanup

The Delaware County Sustainability Office is cosponsoring two upcoming events: The first is a campaign yard sign recycling opportunity May 29 and May 30 and the second is roadside cleanup in Trainer on June 13 in partnership with the NMS Watersheds Alliance to prevent roadside trash from flowing into Marcus Hook Creek.

The Recycling event from 9am-4pm on Friday, May 29 and then again on Saturday, May 30 at Rose Tree Park during the annual Delco Environmental Expo cohosted by State Sen. Tim Kearney and Rep. Jennifer O’Mara at the park, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This biannual yard sign recycling event hosted by the Delco Office of Sustainability and Facilities Department offers a chance for residents to recycle any yard sign for free (through their local recycling vendor partners) that typically have to be trashed. But they NEED YOUR HELP to make this event possible! Sign up for a shift-or two! If you can’t volunteer, still be sure to come by with any yard signs you may have and spread the word. The second event is a co-hosted event between the Office of Sustainability and the NMS (Naamans Creek, Marcus Hook Creek and Stoney Creek) Watersheds Alliance. It is a roadside litter clean-up from 9-11am on Saturday, June 13 and is open to anyone. To register, click HERE.

Join the Delco Office of Sustainability and NMS Watershed Alliance to beautify Township Line Road and remove accumulated roadside litter from flowing into Marcus Hook Creek! All necessary supplies will be provided. Location: Trainer Municipal Building, 300 Township Line Rd, Trainer, PA 19061.
