PA Constituent Training for Net Metering Meetings

June 3 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm EDT

If you have solar panels on your home, or know someone who does, you may be familiar with net metering. Because solar owners don’t always use all the energy they generate, that extra energy can go towards powering neighbors’ homes. Net metering allows solar owners to receive a credit on their electric bill for any extra energy they contribute to the grid.

Our partners at Solar United Neighbors are hosting a training on net metering and how Pennsylvanians can defend the policy. Register to join the webinar, scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3.

More than 88,000 Pennsylvania solar owners benefit from net metering. Ending net metering in Pennsylvania would mean ending fair payments for households that have invested in grid-strengthening local solar power, and it would weaken a valuable source of affordable energy as electricity costs soar.

Net metering for solar generation routinely comes under attack, particularly by monopoly utility companies. It is imperative that your representatives hear from you about the importance of this policy in supporting solar energy, lowering costs, and strengthening the electric grid in Pennsylvania.
