Delco Health Department Launches Lead Poisoning Awareness Campaign
The Delaware County Health Department (DCHD) has announced the launch of “Lead-Free in 1-2-3”, a comprehensive awareness campaign designed to reduce lead poisoning in Delaware County. The campaign’s theme “Is Lead Lurking in Your Home?” seeks to educate residents on the dangers of lead exposure, encourage testing, and promote prevention strategies.

Delaware County Conservation District Leads Restoration of Stoney Creek
The Delaware County Conservation District (DCCD), led by Director Karen Wilwol, spearheaded an impactful restoration project at Moore’s Lake Park, also known as The Hollow, in Prospect Park. This large-scale planting effort, conducted in collaboration with the Borough of Prospect Park and the Darby Creek Valley Association (DCVA), successfully enhanced the riparian zone of Stoney Creek with 170 newly planted trees and shrubs.

Air Quality Monitoring Expands in Delco
The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection has awarded the Delaware County Planning Department $37,000 to install up to 50 air quality monitors to measure particulate emissions throughout the Chester-Marcus Hook area.
