September 29 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm EDT

The Office of Environmental Justice invites you to our next upcoming Environmental Justice Speaker Series; Overview of Environmental Cleanup focused on the Hazardous Sites Clean-up Act (HSCA) Program, PA’s Land Recycling Voluntary Cleanup Program (Act 2), and Public Involvement Plans (PIP) on September 29 at 4pm, Register Here.

  • HSCA provides DEP with the funding and authority to conduct cleanup actions at sites where there is a release or substantial threat of a release of a hazardous substance or contaminant which represents a danger to the public health or safety or the environment.
  • Act 2 (includes Acts 3 and 4) encourages the voluntary cleanup and reuse of contaminated commercial and industrial sites.
  • An Act 2 PIP encourages remediators conducting cleanups to develop programs with a proactive approach of involving communities in their plans.

The overview will focus on the importance and need for HSCA, land recycling opportunities for municipalities, and additional opportunities of public participation. Below are examples of Land Recycling and HSCA:
