CRCQL campaigns ahead of Philly City Council vote on Reworld contract

The “Stop Trashing Our Air Act” (Bill 250768) is scheduled to be voted on by Philadelphia City Council next Thursday, April 9 at 10 a.m. This bill would ban Philly from burning their trash in Chester City at Reworld/Covanta, the largest trash incinerator in the U.S. and one of the biggest polluters in our region. CRCQL plans a rally and a “die-in” in Philadelphia ahead of the vote. The current waste contract expires on June 30.

DEP Holds 1st air quality festival in Upland, Delco Planning Dept. seeks trail advice

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection held its first quarterly air quality festival at the Redwood Recreation Center in Upland Park to present measurements of air quality from October to December 2025 along the I-95 corridor and waterfront industrial area to the public. It will continue to measure and present results to the public through December 2027.

Pick a park. Take a hike. Then write about it—you just might get published in Sierra magazine!
Choose a state or national park near you, go explore, and then write an essay about what the experience was like and why protecting that natural area is important to you. Contest open to all those up to age 18.
