Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful: Pick up Some Litter in Your Community — Register Now

Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful is thrilled to announce that registration is now open for Pick Up Pennsylvania, the state’s largest community improvement program! Register now until May 31 to get free supplies and gear from PennDOT and DEP.

 New this year, we are sponsoring the Before and After category of Pennsylvania Resources Council Lens On Litter Photo Contest. Enter your Pick Up PA event for a chance to win $500!

Who can participate?  Anyone!  Scout troops, church groups, environmental and civic groups, neighborhood groups.   Please share this email far and wide so we can join forces with even more volunteers dedicated to keeping our communities clean and beautiful. Together, we can make a difference!

Registration is open for the 2025 Pick Up Pennsylvania! Events scheduled from March 1 through May 31 receive free trash bags, gloves, and safety vests provided by support from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and PA Department of Transportation, as supplies last. DEP and Pennsylvania Waste Industries Association are sponsoring trash disposal, free of charge or at a reduced rate for registered program participants, at participating landfills from April 1 through April 30, with prior approval. Events can include litter cleanups, illegal dump cleanups, community greening and beautification, special collections and anti-litter education events. Events must be registered at https://www.keeppabeautiful.org/programs/pick-up-pa/ to receive free cleanup supplies. 

Program participants have done amazing work in 2024! Here are the 2024 Pick Up Pennsylvania stats:

  • 5,518 Events
  • 77,367 Invaluable Volunteers
  • 2,767,300 Pounds of Materials Recycled
  • 3,257,920 Pounds of Trash Disposed
  • 6,518 Miles of Roads, Shorelines and Trails Cleaned
  • 14,046 Trees, Shrubs, and Flowers Planted
  • 46,726 Tires Properly Disposed
