The Sierra Club is urgently asking all environmental friends and allies to lobby the Pennsylvania Senate to pass HB 1834 to regulate data center development now, before the demand for new data centers strains our grid, raises prices for families, and increases reliance on higher-emitting power sources.
The state House has passed two bills intended to help the state and local governments grapple with the impacts of data centers, as communities across the commonwealth continue to deal with the proliferation of the sprawling computer farms.
Organizations and individuals from across Pennsylvania are invited to sign a letter to Governor Shapiro urging his participation in a statewide virtual town hall to share concerns about the fast proliferation of AI Data Centers across PA. The Better Path Coalition and No False Climate Solutions PA – coalitions that the Delaware Riverkeeper Network is a part of – are organizing the event.
