U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)

The mission of EPA is to protect human health and the environment.

When Congress writes an environmental law, the EPA implements it by writing regulations. Often, the EPA sets national standards that states and tribes enforce through their own regulations. We also enforce our regulations, and help companies understand the requirements. The EPA also works to provide grant funding, study environmental issues, sponsor partnerships, and teach people about the information.
