DESCRIPTION:Stewardship Saturdays are open events that welcomes all visitors to take part in a hands on experience of creating better habitats for wildlife on the Refuge. Folks will meet at the Visitor’s Center where they will meet and then work with experienced “Weed Warriors” who will teach them about removing invasive plants and or planting native plants to improve native plant diversity and/or food sources for wildlife.

Each meeting takes about 30 minutes. We’ll discuss important policy proposals that will promote renewable energy and energy efficiency\, and you’ll get the chance to share why climate action is important to you. \nThis year’s lobby day is co-sponsored by Audubon Mid-Atlantic\, Clean Air Action\, Evergreen Action\, KEEA\, Lutheran Advocacy Ministry in PA\, POWER\, Solar United Neighbors\, Sierra Club PA\, Vote Solar\, PennFuture\, Conservation Voters of PA\, PennPIRG\, Third Act PA\, Young Involved Philly\, Pennsylvania Bipartisan Climate Initiative\, with additional groups TBA.

SUMMARY:Newlin Grist Mill Habitat Stewards
DESCRIPTION:Help us make our park a better place for wildlife and people! The Habitat Stewards group meets once a month to work on outdoor tasks related to habitat restoration and species conservation. Projects vary by month but include things like invasive plant removal\, tree planting\, garden maintenance\, trail cleanup\, and outdoor classroom care. \nRemaining 2026 Habitat Stewards dates \n\nMay 30\nSeptember 26\nOctober 31\nNovember 28\nDecember 12\n\n1pm to 3pm.
