DESCRIPTION:The SC DelCo Green Team is committed to educating people about and increasing the use of clean energy\, zero waste solutions\, & sustainable policies in all DelCo municipalities.  Our activities include: \n\nAdvocating and lobbying for environmental legislation.\nParticipating in marches\, rallies\, and demonstrations.\nEngaging with DelCo residents individually and in groups during community events\, to inform and support them in making environmentally friendly choices.\nSponsoring outings in natural areas and other locations of environmental interest.\nSupporting local governments in making sustainable improvements\, including establishing municipal Environmental Advisory Councils (EACs).\nSupporting marginalized communities in their efforts against polluting industries being sited there.\nCollaborating with other environmental organizations on larger scale actions.\n\nPlease lend your creativity & input. DESCRIPTION:Pennsylvania has almost 60 proposed data centers across the state–with more being proposed every week! \nAccording to a recent Climate Power poll\, Americans don’t want data centers powered by fossil fuels — they want clean energy solutions that protect communities by lowering pollution and keeping energy costs down. \nDespite the Pennsylvania House of Representatives advancing strong data center legislation requiring companies to bring new clean energy\, there are still no enforceable statewide clean energy standards or regulations in place. Meanwhile\, more data center proposals are being tied to new\, dirty gas plants that threaten our communities’ air quality and drive-up energy costs for Pennsylvanians. \nOur experts will explore the energy challenges posed by data centers in Pennsylvania—including rising electricity costs\, increased pollution from fossil fuel plants\, and growing strain on the electrical grid. \nWe’ll also explore policy and industry solutions that harness clean energy to meet rising energy demand. \nRSVP HERE!  \n
