Furthermore\, federal attacks on clean energy and climate protections are moving us in the wrong direction by driving up energy costs and worsening climate chaos. \n  \nJoin us for the Back to School but Too Hot to Learn Rally \nSaturday\, August 22\, 2026\n1:00 pm\nPhiladelphia City Hall (North Apron) \n  \nGlenn Hurricane Schwartz and Councilmember Nic O’Rourke will join educators and youth advocates to call attention to the growing risks climate change poses to students\, as well as the urgent need for policies to protect their health and future. We’ll hear from two municipalities that have installed solar and one that is planning to install solar. \nThere are currently two federal credits available that reduce the cost of solar significantly. A 30% Federal Investment Tax Credit and a 10% Community Energy credit (in some areas) are available for systems installed and operating by December 31\, 2027. A 10% domestic content credit is also available. To meet the end of 2027 deadline\, projects should start their feasibility and financial analysis by this September. \nWe’ll also hear about Solarize’s services to help a municipality through the feasibility\, financial analysis\, and RFP process.
