SUMMARY:International Plastic Pellet Count Day - Volunteers Needed!
DESCRIPTION:Most plastic is made from plastic pellets — tiny beads of plastic that can spill into the environment and pollute our waterways. \nAn estimated 10 trillion plastic pellets enter the ocean every year. Wildlife can mistake plastic pellets for food and eat them.1 \nEnvironment America Research & Policy Center is helping organize the second-annual International Plastic Pellet Count on Saturday\, May 2 to search for plastic pellet pollution in our environment. Will you volunteer for the International Plastic Pellet Count on May 2 in your community? \nWe’re looking for volunteers across America to complete their own plastic pellet counts and clean-up events. All you need to do to join the International Plastic Pellet Count is visit your local waterway\, look for plastic pellet pollution\, and record what you find. \nYour plastic pellet count can take as little as 10 minutes. Spending a few minutes helping find and count plastic pellets at your local stream\, river\, lake\, wetland or ocean beach is a great way to take personal action to help put wildlife over waste. And it’s even more fun if you invite your friends and family to join you. \nSign up for the International Plastic Pellet Count on Saturday\, May 2.

SUMMARY:What do Cruise Ships in Philadelphia have to do with Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG)?
DESCRIPTION:Join us to learn about the Philadelphia Port Authority’s (PPA) plans to bring the cruise ship industry to Philadelphia and the use of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) as fuel. \n\n\n\nWhat are the public safety threats for Philadelphia and Southeastern PA?\nWhat are the potential environmental impacts for the Delaware River and its communities?\nWhere will they produce\, transport and store LNG – a hazardous\, flammable\, and explosive material?\nWhy haven’t communities been informed?\nWill there be polluting air emissions?\nWhat is the scope — the size of the ships\, how often they will sail\, and when?\nWhere exactly will these enormous ships dock\, fuel up\, and be serviced and how will they navigate the Delaware River?\n\nThere are many questions for which we have been seeking answers; we will share what we have learned and discuss the implications. We insist the public has the right to know all of this information immediately since the first sailing is supposed to be in April and people who live and work in the region are within the impact zone. We have requested PPA to hold a public information session right away. The potential impacts of this new industry are of great consequence for the environment\, the Delaware River\, and communities in Pennsylvania\, South Jersey\, and Delaware. \nThursday\, April 30\, 7:00pm\nREGISTER HERE NOW

SUMMARY:Breaking Down DRBC's Framework for Resilience
DESCRIPTION:The Delaware River Basin Commission’s Water Resources Resilience Plan (WRRP) supports management of the Basin’s shared water resources through the known and potential impacts of climate change and other challenges. \nThe WRRP has 3 phases\, each with a public input component. Phase 1 was completed in March 2026 and reflected input from partners and stakeholders to define a consensus-based framework for the plan. Phase 2 will consist of a vulnerability assessment and a gap analysis to identify and prioritize potential actions that can be taken by the DRBC and/or other regional partners to advance resilience of the Basin’s water resources. \nJoin DRBC staff to learn more about the plan’s progress and next steps! \nVisit https://tinyurl.com/WRRP-webinar to register.
