DESCRIPTION:As a courtesy FYI\, the agenda for the Wednesday\, September 2\, 2026\, 3Q Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC) Business Meeting is available at http://www.nj.gov/drbc/meetings/upcoming/. \nThe September 2\, 2026\, Business Meeting will include the following \n\nAdoption of the Minutes of the Commission’s June 11\, 2026\, business meeting\nAnnouncement of upcoming meetings and events;\nA report on hydrologic conditions;\nReports by the Executive Director and the Commission’s General Counsel; and\nConsideration of any items for which a hearing has been completed or is not required.\n\nThe agenda is expected to include consideration of the resolution and draft dockets for withdrawals\, discharges\, and other projects that are subjects of the public hearing on August 5\, 2026. There will be no opportunity for additional public comment for the record at the September 2 Business Meeting on items for which a hearing was completed on August 5 or a previous date. Commission consideration on September 2 of items for which the public hearing is closed may result in approval of the item (by docket or resolution) as proposed\, approval with changes\, denial or deferral. When the Commissioners defer an action\, they may announce an additional period for written comment on the item\, with or without an additional hearing date\, or they may take additional time to consider the input they have already received without requesting further public input. Any deferred items will be considered for action at a public meeting of the Commission on a future date. \nAfter all scheduled business has been completed and as time allows\, the Business Meeting may be followed by up to one hour of Open Public Comment. DESCRIPTION:The Office of Environmental Justice invites you to our next upcoming Environmental Justice Speaker Series; Overview of Environmental Cleanup focused on the Hazardous Sites Clean-up Act (HSCA) Program\, PA’s Land Recycling Voluntary Cleanup Program (Act 2)\, and Public Involvement Plans (PIP) on September 29 at 4pm\, Register Here. \n\nHSCA provides DEP with the funding and authority to conduct cleanup actions at sites where there is a release or substantial threat of a release of a hazardous substance or contaminant which represents a danger to the public health or safety or the environment.\n\n\nAct 2 (includes Acts 3 and 4) encourages the voluntary cleanup and reuse of contaminated commercial and industrial sites.\n\n\nAn Act 2 PIP encourages remediators conducting cleanups to develop programs with a proactive approach of involving communities in their plans.\n\nThe overview will focus on the importance and need for HSCA\, land recycling opportunities for municipalities\, and additional opportunities of public participation. Below are examples of Land Recycling and HSCA: \n\nCambria Iron Works is revitalization project that combined tourism of the city’s steel-making industry with new jobs where the old mills once stood.\n\n\nIra Reynolds Riverfront Park project is located along the Susquehanna River on a portion of the former Erie Rail Yard site that ceased operations in the mid-1970’s after more than a century in Susquehanna Depot.\nBridesburg River Front Park info attached and media release:  Shapiro Administration Investments in Robert A. DESCRIPTION:The SC DelCo Green Team is committed to educating people about and increasing the use of clean energy\, zero waste solutions\, & sustainable policies in all DelCo municipalities.  Our activities include: \n\nAdvocating and lobbying for environmental legislation.\nParticipating in marches\, rallies\, and demonstrations.\nEngaging with DelCo residents individually and in groups during community events\, to inform and support them in making environmentally friendly choices.\nSponsoring outings in natural areas and other locations of environmental interest.\nSupporting local governments in making sustainable improvements\, including establishing municipal Environmental Advisory Councils (EACs).\nSupporting marginalized communities in their efforts against polluting industries being sited there.\nCollaborating with other environmental organizations on larger scale actions.\n\nPlease lend your creativity & input.
