Students and teachers in sweltering classrooms are forced to dismiss early or go remote because of extreme heat. Furthermore\, federal attacks on clean energy and climate protections are moving us in the wrong direction by driving up energy costs and worsening climate chaos. \n  \nJoin us for the Back to School but Too Hot to Learn Rally \nSaturday\, August 22\, 2026\n1:00 pm\nPhiladelphia City Hall (North Apron) \n  \nGlenn Hurricane Schwartz and Councilmember Nic O’Rourke will join educators and youth advocates to call attention to the growing risks climate change poses to students\, as well as the urgent need for policies to protect their health and future. We will drive home the message that it’s time to invest in clean energy\, strengthen climate resilience\, and put the health and safety of our communities ahead of polluters.
