SUMMARY:You Are the Best Messenger!
DESCRIPTION:Did you know that most people drastically underestimate how much others care about climate change and the environment? \nIn the United States\, supporters of climate policies outnumber opponents two to one\, while most of us falsely perceive nearly the opposite.11 \nFortunately\, people tend to trust people they know and can relate to. That makes us the best messengers to our friends\, families\, and communities. But we don’t always know the best and most effective way to engage. \nThat’s why\, as part of Sierra Club’s Climate Truth Tellers team\, we’re hosting a workshop series on engaging your community through relational organizing. Learn more and RSVP here! \nThis two-part series is focused on how we can engage our communities to protect our future\, both online and in person. You’re welcome to attend one or both events: \n\n“YOU Are the Best Messenger: Relational Organizing 101\,” which will be held on Monday\, October 26 at 4 pm PT/ 7 pm ET.\n“Having Holiday Conversations with Friends and Family\,” which will be held on Thursday\, November 19\, at 4 pm PT/ 7 pm ET.\n\nCan’t join live? The workshop recordings and materials will be shared with all registrants! \n

SUMMARY:PennFuture's Energy Playbook
DESCRIPTION:PennFuture’s Energy Playbook identifies the intersection of economic interests of communities with the environmental interests of our movement so that all Pennsylvanians can look forward to a healthier and more prosperous future. Together\, we can work to transform Pennsylvanian’s energy system\, make its industrial base more competitive\, and improve the conditions of workers and communities. Join us for this webinar for the launch of this Energy Playbook as we take the first steps on the path together. \nThe Playbook’s author\, Policy Manager for Sustainable Economics Donna Kohut\, will host a free webinar about what clear actions the state should and can take right now to get us into a clean energy transition — and how you can help motivate lawmakers to get us on the path to a cleaner\, brighter future. \nRegister Here

SUMMARY:
DESCRIPTION:Join Solarize Greater Philadelphia and the Sierra Club to find out why now is the best time for municipalities to invest in solar. \nOn-site solar can help make energy costs more predictable and keep energy budgets stable for your municipality. We’ll hear from two municipalities that have installed solar and one that is planning to install solar. \nThere are currently two federal credits available that reduce the cost of solar significantly. A 30% Federal Investment Tax Credit and a 10% Community Energy credit (in some areas) are available for systems installed and operating by December 31\, 2027. A 10% domestic content credit is also available. To meet the end of 2027 deadline\, projects should start their feasibility and financial analysis by this September. \nWe’ll also hear about Solarize’s services to help a municipality through the feasibility\, financial analysis\, and RFP process. Financing and Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) options will be included.\n \nWhat: Benefits and How-To for Installing Municipal Solar\nWhen: Wednesday\, August 19 | 12:00–1:00 PM\nWhere: Zoom Meeting\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister Here!
