SUMMARY:Public Meeting for Owners of Large Buildings Regarding a Proposed Energy Benchmarking Ordinance
DESCRIPTION:Informational Public Meeting for Owners of Large Buildings (>25\,000 ft²) Regarding a Proposed Energy Benchmarking Ordinance \nAttend in person or VIRTUALLY.  To attend virtually you need to register HERE \nRadnor Township is evaluating a building energy benchmarking policy that would require owners of primarily multifamily\, commercial\, and institutional buildings over 25\,000 ft² to report their annual energy usage. Building owners can input their data into free tools like ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager and generate an ENERGY STAR Score or Energy Use Intensity (EUI)\, which compares their building’s energy efficiency to that of buildings of a similar size and type. \nElectricity and fossil fuel costs are rising significantly due to factors like data center demand on the electricity grid and recent geopolitical events. Building energy benchmarking can help us to identify opportunities to make buildings more energy efficient and achieve local and regional climate goals. A major objective of the potential policy will be to connect building owners to rebates\, incentives\, and resources to improve their building performance and lower energy costs and emissions. For more information about the Township’s strategies to reduce energy consumption\, check out the Radnor Township Renewable Energy & Conservation Plan\, adopted in February 2021. \n\n\nClick here for more information
