Join us for monthly naturalist-led walks through the 160-acre park at Newlin Grist Mill. We will meet year-round residents\, visit exciting migrants\, and learn the basics of bird identification and biology. \nFamilies and beginners are welcome for these free bird walks! A limited number of binoculars are available for use\, but participants are encouraged to bring their own if they have them. DESCRIPTION:Memorial Ride & Ghost Bike Dedication \n\n\nPlease join us on Saturday\, March 28th for a memorial ride and ghost bike dedication for Teddy Einstein. Teddy was a beloved husband and father of two young children who was killed by a driver on the afternoon of December 3rd\, while cycling along the Bicyclist Baltimore Pike. \nGroups of cyclists will meet up (9:45am gather\, 10am roll) either in Swarthmore (meet at Myers + Park Avenue\, Swarthmore Train Station) or in West Philadelphia (43rd + Chester Street) to bike to the scene of the crash (W Providence Road + E Penns Pines Boulevard). There will be a pop-up intersection reconfiguration to demonstrate a safer intersection. At 11am we will have a brief ghost bike dedication ceremony with a few speakers. Cyclists will then return to West Philly and Swarthmore. \nFree Registration \n

The Habitat Stewards group meets once a month to work on outdoor tasks related to habitat restoration and species conservation. Projects vary by month but include things like invasive plant removal\, tree planting\, garden maintenance\, trail cleanup\, and outdoor classroom care. \nRemaining 2026 Habitat Stewards dates \n\nMarch 28\nApril 25\nMay 30\nSeptember 26\nOctober 31\nNovember 28\nDecember 12\n\n1pm to 3pm.
